"BABAJI and the SANATANA DHARMA

The Vedas contain, as the heart of their teaching, an exposition of the divine cosmic laws, governing the way the universe functions and maintains balance. These laws were laid down at the beginning of creation by divine omnipotence and have been passed on through the ages by inspired sages who have reformulated them countless times to make them accessible in a new way to the contemporary, prevailing lifestyle and thinking.

The main themes of the Hindu philosophy of life are: freedom from suffering, liberation during one's lifetime on earth, and the attainment of immortality beyond this lifetime. How liberation (mukti) may be obtained is shown by the example of the avatar - God becomes human so that human may ascend to divinity. The avatar's mission is to initiate a transformation in human beings and to revitalise the laws of the sanatana dharma, involving a complete renewal of everybody and everything on earth. Whatever is not open to receive and harmonise with the more subtle levels of energy, will perish in a process that shall cleanse the whole world of negative forces. The earth, with all life on it, has presently reached this decisive turning point in its evolution.

Whole civilizations were destroyed in the past, because their way of life violated cosmic laws. Impartial and inexorable, these laws have a causality which cannot possibily be penetrated by the ordinary human mind or manipulated by human influence.

The sanatana dharma teaches, that for the whole of humanity and the universe, there is only one god. This single, divine Being is the beginning, middle and end, source and substance of everything. Ultimately beyond form, expression and comprehension, it may be experienced, worshipped and invoked in any form at all, and which form is chosen, depends on the capacity and traditions of individuals and entire nations to marvel at and respect this all-transcending Being of Light.

When one compares the experiences of devotees' encounters with Babaji, it is obvious that he can appear in so many different forms, which is in keeping with the promise in the Bhagavad Gita, namely that, when a person worships the divine with genuine devotion and complete faith, God will reveal himself to the beloved worshipper in the form the devotee himself has chosen.

To his devotees brought up in the Hindu tradition, Babaji has appeared as the goddess Kali, as Rama, as Krishna, as Shirdi Baba and in the form of a well-known saint in northern India, founder of the Sikh faith, called Guru Nanak. To his devotees from the Christian tradition, Babaji has appeared as Christ; to his devotees of Muslim background as khidr, the 'hidden prophet', whom the Sufis venerate as the 'axis of the age', qutb-i-zaman.

Nimkoroli Baba, a famous north Indian saint, appeared in dreams of some of his disciples to advise them of Babaji's significance. Similarly, other contemporary saints like Shri Nantin Baba and Yogi Shri Vidyadhasji, advised their disciples to obtain Babaji's darshan, because he is 'all in all'; he embodies all the forms of God that have ever manifested. Nantin Baba further stated, that the time would soon come when Babaji's true significance would soon be revealed to the world.

For each stage in the evolution of human consciousness, an example of the timeless message is always provided and is formulated to suit the prevailing times and the type of change about to take place. We are now at this point in evolutionary consciousness when the message reaches us again, this time form the Himalayas. As always, the message contains a promise of liberation for everyone, who has developed strong and steady faith and can act on it alone. No matter what religious practices, ideals and convictions a person may have, their type and form is of no concern to the highest Being, because this Being is available to all people of true faith. The avatar is the incarnation of this message and discloses it through his speech and actions, which are perfect in truth and love. Throughout the ages the avatars have come to appeal to the human being, to evoke that ancient memory of the divine within"
